There are currently no tools which fully support an e ective metric modelling approach. This is in many respects responsible for the lack of success in the metrics eld, as measurement programs are usually driven by the tools available (Basili and Rombach 1988). We review existing system lifecycle models and metric modelling approaches to elucidate inherent problems of existing metric modelling approaches. We argue that there are various fundamental problems with existing metric modelling approaches, and that a subset of these mirror problems of earlier system lifecycle models. A list of criteria which a higher quality metric modelling approach should support are presented. Underlying concepts of recent object-oriented system lifecycle models and object-oriented software construction principles provide the appropriate technology to produce an object-oriented process for metric modelling (metric modelling approach and supporting software, which implicitly satis es the de ciencies of existing metric modelling approaches. 1 The Notion of Model A model can be informally de ned as \an abstraction or simpli cation of reality"(Shepperd and Ince 1993). A model requires a purpose, will establish relationships between entities, and has inputs and outputs, connected by relationships, or by a set of equalities which may use parameters, as illustrated in Figure 1. Towards Measuring the Project Management Process During Large Scale Software System Implementation Phase
Project management is an important factor to accomplish the decision to implement large-scale software systems (LSS) in a successful manner. The effective project management comes into play to plan, coordinate and control such a complex project. Project management factor has been argued as one of the important Critical Success Factor (CSF), which need to be measured and monitored carefully duri...
متن کاملAvailability evaluation of Software architecture of object oriented Style using coloured Petri nets
Software architecture is one of the most fundamental products in the process of software development in the areas of behavioral or non- behavioral features like availability or transformability change. There are different ways to evaluate software architecture one of which is the creation of application model. An executable model of software architecture is an official description of architectu...
متن کاملSegmentation Assisted Object Distinction for Direct Volume Rendering
Ray Casting is a direct volume rendering technique for visualizing 3D arrays of sampled data. It has vital applications in medical and biological imaging. Nevertheless, it is inherently open to cluttered classification results. It suffers from overlapping transfer function values and lacks a sufficiently powerful voxel parsing mechanism for object distinction. In this work, we are proposing an ...
متن کاملFIXED POINT THEOREM OF KANNAN-TYPE MAPPINGS IN GENERALIZED FUZZY METRIC SPACES
Binayak et al in [1] proved a fixed point of generalized Kannan type-mappings in generalized Menger spaces. In this paper we extend gen- eralized Kannan-type mappings in generalized fuzzy metric spaces. Then we prove a fixed point theorem of this kind of mapping in generalized fuzzy metric spaces. Finally we present an example of our main result.
متن کاملTowards an Integrated Product and Process Modelling: oEPC Markup Language (oEPML) for object-oriented Event-driven Process Chains (oEPC)
The responsibilities for products and processes are usually split between the organisational, IT or financial divisions. Connections and interdependencies are consequently often only insufficiently recognised. Integrated product and process models (IPP) are a highly promising approach to counter these deficits. Based on an IPP framework, we describe a modelling approach that aims at an Integrat...
